Questions
Is travel insurance mandatory for Chile?
We are not aware of a mandatory travel insurance rule for tourist entry to Chile, and we will not assert one we cannot cite. The reason to buy is cost, not compliance: foreign visitors are generally not covered by the local health system.
How much cover do I need for Chile?
Enough for a private clinic and a medical transfer, which is where the real cost sits.
