Most people lose money abroad in the first 15 minutes: they walk into the nearest clinic, hand over a card, and call later. Do it in the other order.
1. Is it life-threatening?
Chest pain, trouble breathing, heavy bleeding, a seizure, someone who will not wake up: call the local emergency number first, then us. In Europe that is 112; in the United States, Canada and Mexico, 911; in Japan, 119 for an ambulance.
2. If not, message or call us before you go anywhere
WhatsApp +1 (754) 324-4816 or call +1 (786) 257-0040. A person answers, any hour, in Spanish or English. Have ready: your name or voucher number, where you are, and what is wrong.
3. See a doctor from where you are
By video, WhatsApp, phone or text, as often as you need, at no charge. Where local law allows, the doctor can send a prescription to a pharmacy near you. Controlled medicines need an in-person visit.
4. If you need to be seen, we choose the place
We send you a Verification of Benefits to show at reception. At network clinics, MDabroad guarantees payment and the clinic bills us. You do not hand over a card.
5. If you already paid
Send a photo of the receipt and the medical report on WhatsApp. Once your documents are complete: 24 hours for most claims, never more than 5 days.
The one rule
Contact us before care or any expense. If you truly cannot, do it within 24 hours. If you skip the call without a justified reason, the conditions let us refuse the claim or pay only what our network would have cost. One message avoids all of that.
