What people ask before they buy Pulsar.
Is Pulsar travel insurance?
Pulsar is travel medical assistance: a 24/7 service that arranges and pays for your care abroad. Its medical benefits are insured by the insurer named in your voucher email, and the assistance is operated by MDabroad. It does not replace your health plan at home (clause 1 b).
Do I pay anything at the hospital?
Not for covered care at a network hospital or clinic, once you have contacted us. We send you a Verification of Benefits and the clinic bills us. If you cannot contact us first, do it within 24 hours (clause 6 a).
How fast are claims paid?
Send photos of the receipts and the medical report to our WhatsApp. There is no form. Once your documents are complete, we approve and pay most claims in minutes, and never take more than 5 days. Send documents within 60 days of your voucher's end (clause 7 e).
">What flight delay benefits apply to my trip?
Check your voucher for the terms, eligibility and payout method that apply to your product.
Are pre-existing conditions covered?
An acute heart attack or stroke is covered on every plan, whatever your history (clause 42 iii). Other conditions that began before the trip are not, unless you add the pre-existing extra: USD 15,000 or 20,000 for acute episodes (clause 8 k).
What changes after 65?
From 65 your medical limit is 75 percent of the plan's, and the daily price is higher. You can buy Pulsar up to age 85. We show both before you pay.
Can I buy once I have left home?
No. Pulsar has to be bought before your trip starts (clause 3 c). If you already hold a voucher and want to stay longer, ask us before it ends: we can issue up to 30 more days, and treatment of anything that began under the first voucher does not continue (clause 43).
Can I cancel and get my money back?
Yes. Within 10 days of buying, if your trip has not started and you have not used any service, you get everything back (clause 4 c). After that, and until 3 business days before your cover starts, you get 80% back, or you move your dates with no change fee. Later than that, or once the trip has started, it cannot be cancelled or moved.
Your price in ten seconds. A person in sixty.
No email to see a price. Nothing added at checkout. Cancel within 10 days for a full refund before your trip.

What PAX Assistance promises on its site, and what its contract says.
| On their site | In their conditions |
|---|---|
| PAX CASH, the end of reimbursements: funds arrive instantly in your digital wallet source | Obligaciones del beneficiario 6 and Medicamentos Recetados (p. 7, 11): PAX Cash is used only when operationally possible and at PAX's sole discretion; receipts still required; the reimbursement process (60 day filing, 15 plus 15 business days) remains. |
| Cashless model: PAX pays clinics directly; you do not advance money or collect receipts source | Obligaciones del beneficiario 7 (p. 7) requires original receipts and medical information; no clause commits to direct payment in every case. |
| All PAX plans include assistance for pre-existing conditions, within the limit on your PAX ID source | Exclusiones 1 (p. 29) excludes pre-existing conditions; p. 10 covers them only where expressly indicated, acute episodes only, 12 months stable; the upgrade is not valid if bought while traveling. |
| No fine print, no surprises: what you buy is exactly what you get source | The general conditions run 39 pages and list 32 general exclusions (Exclusiones aplicables a todos los servicios y beneficios, p. 29 to 30). |
| The only travel assistance in the world with 24/7 emotional support in every plan source | Asistencia Psicológica (p. 12): 24 hour phone support after repatriation, death of a relative or natural catastrophe; not a substitute for a psychologist. Exclusión 9 excludes mental disorders. |
| Medical repatriation included with no sub-limit in the base plan source | Repatriación Sanitaria (p. 16) states no amount; Moneda de alcances y servicios (p. 9) says maximum limits are those shown on the voucher. |
| You can cancel free of charge before coverage starts source | Written terms give a 10 calendar day withdrawal right from purchase (Términos y Condiciones, Derecho de arrepentimiento); CG p. 3 bars cancellation after start. The FAQ is more generous than the written terms. |
| Can buy while already traveling, with a 72 hour waiting period source | Vigencia y validez, Carencia (p. 5): 3 day waiting period, accidents after purchase covered immediately. Consistent. |
| Travel assistance in 190 countries source | Validez geográfica (p. 6): worldwide except country of residence and of issue; Exclusión 30 excludes countries at war. The FAQ elsewhere says PAX operates in more than 110 countries. |

Ratings as shown on each platform, and what unhappy reviewers write about most.
Most frequent complaints in the reviews we read:
- Payments to hospitals or medical invoices pending for months
- Slow emergency response or poor coordination between facilities
- Coverage denied or support withdrawn during a case
Pulsar is new and has no public rating yet. After each trip we ask every traveler, and we publish what they say, good or bad. How our reviews work
Also worth knowing
- Trustpilot distribution: 85% five stars, 9% one star; profile claimed April 2022; Trustpilot's AI summary mentions praise for responsiveness but also inconsistent response times, denied claims and unsuitable facility referrals (es.trustpilot.com/review/paxassistance.com, seen 2026-09-30).
- The 4.8 Google rating claimed on the site could not be verified from a fetchable Google page; treat as the brand's own claim.
- Three versions of the general conditions are linked on the site: the footer links the July 2026 PDF, the checkout step links the September 2024 PDF, and a promotion in the Aviso Legal references the December 2025 PDF (paxassistance.com/ar page source; Aviso_Legal_Pax_Assistance.pdf).
- Disputes go exclusively to the courts of Doral, Florida (CG, Convenio de Competencia, p. 30), although the seller is an Argentine company.
- Written complaints about services must be made within 30 days after the plan ends (CG, Caducidad, p. 32), shorter than the 60 day window for reimbursement papers.
- The CG says the product is not insurance, even if offered through an insurer (Introducción, p. 3).
