What people ask before they buy Pulsar.
Is Pulsar travel insurance?
Pulsar is travel medical assistance: a 24/7 service that arranges and pays for your care abroad. Its medical benefits are insured by the insurer named in your voucher email, and the assistance is operated by MDabroad. It does not replace your health plan at home (clause 1 b).
Do I pay anything at the hospital?
Not for covered care at a network hospital or clinic, once you have contacted us. We send you a Verification of Benefits and the clinic bills us. If you cannot contact us first, do it within 24 hours (clause 6 a).
How fast are claims paid?
Send photos of the receipts and the medical report to our WhatsApp. There is no form. Once your documents are complete, we approve and pay most claims in minutes, and never take more than 5 days. Send documents within 60 days of your voucher's end (clause 7 e).
">What flight delay benefits apply to my trip?
Check your voucher for the terms, eligibility and payout method that apply to your product.
Are pre-existing conditions covered?
An acute heart attack or stroke is covered on every plan, whatever your history (clause 42 iii). Other conditions that began before the trip are not, unless you add the pre-existing extra: USD 15,000 or 20,000 for acute episodes (clause 8 k).
What changes after 65?
From 65 your medical limit is 75 percent of the plan's, and the daily price is higher. You can buy Pulsar up to age 85. We show both before you pay.
Can I buy once I have left home?
No. Pulsar has to be bought before your trip starts (clause 3 c). If you already hold a voucher and want to stay longer, ask us before it ends: we can issue up to 30 more days, and treatment of anything that began under the first voucher does not continue (clause 43).
Can I cancel and get my money back?
Yes. Within 10 days of buying, if your trip has not started and you have not used any service, you get everything back (clause 4 c). After that, and until 3 business days before your cover starts, you get 80% back, or you move your dates with no change fee. Later than that, or once the trip has started, it cannot be cancelled or moved.
Your price in ten seconds. A person in sixty.
No email to see a price. Nothing added at checkout. Cancel within 10 days for a full refund before your trip.

Also worth knowing
- The conditions set no deadline for paying reimbursements; C.4.1.12 (p. 12) says reimbursements are paid at Assist Card offices and C.4.1.13 says US bills are processed 'a la mayor brevedad'. Source: conditions, p. 12.
- The 365-day limit appears in Chapter D (included insurances, p. 35) and in the baggage clause 4.32.3.2 (p. 23), not in the medical reimbursement clause. Legal actions prescribe 180 days after the event (C.11, p. 35).
- Returning home early ends the service with no refund for unused days (C.5.7, p. 30).
- Inside the country of issue, Assist Card pays only in addition to the traveler's obra social, prepaid medicine or other insurance (B.1, p. 5; C.5.2.2, p. 28).
- The extra 7 days after expiry in C.4.1.7 cover only hospital room and board, and only while the global maximum is not used up (p. 11).
- Buying more than one card does not add up benefits; the most favorable card's limits apply (C.1, p. 7).
